Technical Project Manager (who used to be a SW Engineer) at EVRI

September 11 - Seattle - Full–Time

EVRI is bringing the world a fundamentally new and more effective way of finding and navigating information by leveraging the power of our highly accurate deep natural language processing based linguistic analysis and search platform. We are looking for

a talented and proven TPM to join our team.

  POSITION SUMMARY As a Technical Project Manager, you will be extensively involved in participating in the design through implementation of the Evri back–end systems.  This is a role where you will be responsible for completing a variety of highly visible projects, solving complex and challenging issues, facilitating the technical solution architecture, and implementing the project within a specified time and budget. This position requires strong technology background, excellent project management skills, and experience in leading technology projects and cross–functional technology teams. Successful candidates must be action oriented, self–directed, resourceful, have solid interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to successfully manage/negotiate change.  You are able to come up to speed quickly and develop a broad and deep understanding of Evri’s technology, services, and tools. RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Leading software development projects,
  • Including the design, development, integration, and implementation of complex software systems with new or existing technologies.
  • Assist in driving development planning meetings:
  • Including scoping and estimating work effort and resources, putting together functional specifications, conducting technical feasibility assessments, evaluating new technologies, developing prototypes or proof concepts, etc.
  • Presenting technical issues, solutions, and project status to senior and executive management, both to business and technical stakeholders.
  • Serving as an escalation point for technical problems and maintenance and support activities.
  • Operating independently and collectively within a team to meet project objectives
 Experience Required
  • 4+ years experience managing custom software development project preferably in scaling web applications
  • MUST have Three (3) to five (5) years experience as a software engineer
  • Experience with agile/iterative development methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience in managing full life–cycle software development
  • Must be a self–starter that can drive complex projects forward with minimal management oversight
  • Extremely organized and capable of tracking, managing, and resolving cross–team issues
  • Proven ability to lead technology teams in a fast paced environment and hit deadlines according to project schedules
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and write clear technical requirements from a range of customer inputs ranging from ambiguous to very specific
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate technical issues to a diverse non–technical audience, effectively
  • Communicate status and risk
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize requirements and make informed project tradeoffs
  • Proven ability to effectively manage changes to scope on a budget–constrained and/or time–constrained project
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Excellent technical skills, ability to challenge developers to defend technical designs
  • Successful delivery of at least one major software development project and one maintenance release
  • A strong sense of drive, ownership, passion and a commitment to the user experience
  • Strong customer focus

  • Understanding of NLP and Web Search technologies
  • PMP or Six Sigma certification
 

Education

 
  • B.S. degree in CS, CE, Symbolic Systems or other technology focused area
