This position will be responsible for the design, implementation, unit testing and support of media playback, distribution and infrastructure applications across multiple development environments and technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following is a list of general job responsibilities for the Senior Software Engineer position. This list is not all–inclusive and may be broadened or changed to meet changing business needs. · Design and develop applications for next generation media technologies· Design and develop network based audio playback products· Design and develop media delivery applications· Design and develop media player management applications· Design and develop automation and workflow optimization infrastructure applications for all aspects of media file management · Collaborate with a team of committed professionals in product development & support· Practice test driven development, continuous integration, re–factoring, and iterative development Experience/Education/Certifications· At least 4–7 years experience with C++ development in Linux targeted applications with a working knowledge of C#/.NET environment
Required Skills and Abilities· BS in Computer Science, or closely related degree· 4+ years C++ application development· 2+ years C++ application development for Linux target OS· 1+ years C# application development· Solid design experience using OOP or similar· Familiar with software development life cycles, source control, and build/release procedures.· Comfortable in Windows Server/2000/XP and Linux environments· Programming experience in high–volume/low–latency/high performance processing.· Programming experience with multi–threading processing & TCP/IP · Familiar with open source technologies· Enjoys small team development collaboration as well as individual development efforts· Enjoys fast–paced & multi–project environments· Demonstrated initiative & commitment· Desire and aptitude to learn new technologies· Enjoys & contributes to a positive and fun environment
Bonus Skills· Experience with Web Services, SOAP, HTTP, WFC, MSMQ· Experience with Encryption · Experience with Python · Platform dependent Linux kernel configuration, installation and boot–up· Experience with relational databases (SQLite, MS SQL)· Experience with hardware features such as CPU/memory architectures, DMA engines, PCI, Ethernet, USB, IEEE–1394, RS–232, etc.· Familiar with audio and video formats, compression and streaming methods
