Senior Developer at Grid Networks

This Senior Developer is a key member of our development team and is responsible for creating all end node and consumer facing components of GridNetworks’ products. If you have the experience and a passion for coding cross–platform architectures, a broad knowledge of distributed applications along with the drive to succeed in building world–class software components then this is the right position for you! • Develop robust distributed application components in C/C++ through the use of services and messaging.
• Develop new digital consumer media solutions products and services.
• As a key member of the GridNetworks design team actively participates in the analysis, selection, and building of technologies.
• Integrate existing content management systems with Grid.
• Collaborate with server side developers, QA developers and with software architects regarding design.

• 5+ years proven track record programming stable, highly available, high volume, distributed applications, including development in desktop environments. Solid understanding of software development lifecycle as well as agile development methodologies is required.
• Experience with enterprise application, messaging and service oriented design patterns.
• Digital home server and related protocols and standards (UPnP A/V, Bonjour, RUI, DTCP–IP and more).
• Solid experience building platform independent servers i.e. httpd, peer–to–peer solutions.
• Design–to–ship experience developing rich Internet applications.
• Ability to take complex ideas to ground in a fast paced environment.
• Core competencies in C++. Other languages i.e. Java and web familiarity highly desirable.
• Strong debugging skills.
• Experience with thread and inter–process synchronization.
• Network topology a plus.
• Mac OSX and or WIN32 API experience a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with the desire and ability to collaborate as a member of a strong technical team, as well as a self–directed individual achiever.
• BA or BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or Engineering.
• Candidates must be a legal U.S. citizen or possess a Green Card.
