Chief Marketing Officer at Bitnik, Inc

The Picnik Chief Marketing Officer will create and lead the strategic online marketing initiatives for Picnik. This individual will create, develop, drive, and execute marketing programs to achieve Growth, Customer Acquisition, Retention, and Revenue goals. Growth, Acquisition, Retention, and Revenue marketing plans will be developed with key stakeholders including CEO, CTO, and COO to ensure that budgeted development efforts will maximize ROI of all marketing programs. The qualified candidate must have a background in online marketing strategies and campaigns; specifically web based user acquisition and direct marketing, as well as analysis of the effectiveness of these programs, and communicating back to the product team. The Picnik CMO must be able to work independently and creatively.
Core Deliverables and Responsibilities: • Create, Develop, and Drive all aspects of Picnik’s online marketing strategy, including targeted marketing campaigns that will result in customer acquisition and revenue, significantly impacting business growth and bottom line. • Own and Drive specific marketing initiatives focused on acquisition, including online marketing link building programs, “refer a friend programs”, partner bundles, email marketing campaigns and promotions, SEM, SEO, and Brand reinforcing activities with full ownership of key Picnik site areas like welcome page, buzz page, point of sales, and all member communications. • Work closely with CEO to ensure alignment between online marketing efforts and partnership efforts, and product direction. Monitor and analyze results, using results to plan future strategy • Manage web analytics and sales tracking efforts, recommending and managing site changes based on analysis of site traffic and sales performance • Gather intelligence generally via media monitoring, industry conferences, trade journals, business media and networking. • Analyze customer database to develop customer segmentations and marketing program recommendations • Track and maintain log of online competitive activity and report quarterly • Own and Drive the continuous refinement and improvement of the design and content of the Picnik website to establish and support internet marketing strategies. • Ensure consistent approach to branding across all marketing offerings. • Effectively manage relationships with external agencies, consultants, strategic partners and opinion leaders. • Direct overall PR strategy and event management. Work with outside PR team on press and blogger outreach, conferences and seminars, trade shows, press releases and public speaking engagements.
Education and Experience: • 3 or more years marketing experience in a leadership role (including product marketing, member acquisition, retention & loyalty) • 2 or more years direct experience in online marketing and ecommerce • Proven ability to deliver data–driven results, analysis, testing and application of findings • Project management experience required • Excellent analytic and communication skills • Proven experience working with technical teams • Project management experience required • Credibility to influence and impress at senior level and represent the company in all types of business situations
