I just learned about Vistage, a peer-network of CEO/Presidents of small-to-medium size businesses. They are a large group with more than 14,500 members across the US and the world and with 350+ members in the Seattle region. I’m a big fan of this kind of founder-to-founder/CEO-to-CEO organization because it’s the most valuable way for you to get unbiased and confidential ideas for your business and career.
Paul Shoemaker, the Executive Director at Social Venture Partners, has just become the Chair of a Vistage group here in Seattle and he’s looking for people to join.
The group meets monthly and it includes peer advisory as well as successful experts to give talks on different topics each month. In additional to the monthly meetings, the Chair of each group meets for one-on-one coaching sessions with each member of the group every month.
This organization is somewhat similar to Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) which I wrote about it a few months ago.
Vistage is not for everyone – not for the loner developer about to launch his startup. To be a member you have to be the CEO/President of small-to-medium size business and be ready to pay about $1,000/month for the membership plus $2,000 to join.
Paul is hosting an informational event December 8 at the Seattle Flagship REI at two sessions, either 7:30-9:30 AM or between 12-2 PM. You can register it here.
