A Special Thank You to the "Advisors"

By Marcelo Calbucci

The Advisory Room was an unexpected success for StartupDay. We were thinking we might get about half of the slots filled when we started with this idea. We were very wrong. People were very excited about talking with lawyers, entrepreneurs, marketers, investors, etc.

There was a set of advisors who had no direct or indirect financial benefit of being there. They did it because they just want to help entrepreneurs. Not coincidentally, they are entrepreneur themselves.  As I said on my opening remarks on the event, “entrepreneurs have this strange behavior of helping other entrepreneurs”.

I know I won’t be able to repay or recognize them the way I should, but this blog post is the minimum I can do. All of the advisors should be recognized, and hopefully they will get more leads and deals of being there. However, these people won’t, so…

Galen Ward, Joe Heitzeberg and Marc Barros thank you very much for doing this.

And the people who did double duty and played speaker and advisor: Alex Berg, Colin Wong, Dave Schappell, Hillel Cooperman, Jonathan Sposato, Ksenia Oustiougova, Mike Mathieu and Shelly Farnham.
